Coastal Embrace

'Coastal Embrace' is a vibrant and imaginative mixed-media artwork, brought to life through the dynamic interplay of ink outlines and fluid watercolor washes. This piece is a playful ode to coastal life, drawing inspiration from the familiar energy of graffiti art and my own experiences near the captivating ocean. The scene features two iconic palm trees framing a powerfully stylized ocean, rendered with mesmerising, swirling blue waves that feel both energetic and dreamlike. A unique symbolic twist unfolds with the hammock – traditionally a haven of human rest – here it becomes a whimsical support, metaphorically cradling the vast ocean itself and the highly stylized clouds above, suggesting a delightful inversion of scale and dependency.
